What happens if:

a) You don't offer them food on the correct day?
b) You feed them, but you're on foot/using motorised transport?

:-k

a) As the correct day has been a bit moveable, I don't think it is entirely necessary... they just like the attention. And the noms.

b) I have a hunch that you'll get favours a la mode, but you'd have to ask the little buggers...

Hmmm. Even without the complication of FREEZING DETH I can't see us being back en velo before Christmas, so they might have to have their mince pies and Haribo after Boxing Day...

Noes! We've only just got our ration of SNO CHAOS down here in Devon. At least let us enjoy it for a few days!

I'm probably doing it on Wednesday this year. But, unlike most people, I'm more likely to use the bike than the car because I hate driving in these conditions.

Just trying to work out if I can fit a turkey big enough for 8 people in an Ortlieb pannier.

You can bungy it on the rack, it won't bruise if it's frozen.
(Guess who's king of the £80 Tescoshop).

And sod Devon, we've had a month of it. I've ridden to work in -10C AGAIN this morning and can't come back on the Trans Pennine Trail 'cos it's still under 4" of frozen crunchy stuff that grabs the front wheel when you try to steer on it.

It was up to the hubs first thing. I think I'm gonna get a packet of Flakes and leave natural 99s for the Gobbos. :evilchuffy:

I did manage to get a reasonable sized turkey into a rucksack when I was at Uni and cycle home with it.
You had to be careful how you looked over your shoulder mind!

As for SNO, I've been sent home early on Friday and today and that's the first (and second) time that's happened since the second year at secondary school!

You could replace the trailer wheel with a little ski...

I went by car. For I realised I also needed the booze. Which would not have fitted.

We're still feeling a tad lurgified, so the Goblins still have rumbly tums.

If you leave an offering of tasty comestibles for the traffic light goblins, hopefully you'll get green lights for the next twelve months. Simples!

If memory serves, this tradition goes back to happier times on the C+ forum.

And it's not as if it's any more wierd than refusing to type p*n*t*re in full, lest one suffer the attentions of faerie deflatus.

Bloody superstitious lot, cyclists... :evilchuffy:
