Here you go, no need to worry that you can't reach the controls while stretched out like Superman on a Stealth:

Hilarity ensues...

My problem is that I'd break it by thinking hard about changing down when I'm struggling up a hill in my bottom gear

You'd have to rig it so it gave you a little jolt when you did that. Or flashed a "Naughty!" on your contact lens display...

Seriously (ish) though, this is exactly the kind of freedom from a conventional tension cable that I find exciting about Di2.

I like cables. And there's a deep fulfilling joy every time I click my S3X into overdrive mode.

But I am a registered, card-carrying Luddite, as you well know.

Luddites R Us. :evilchuffy:
Electronics is just more to go wrong. ](*,)
I even went back to downtube shifters on the tourer 'cos the Ergos packed up twice in 10,000 miles. (Yes you can work a 9 speed triple on DT friction!).
Still got 1-1/2 Ergos on the 953 though, back end works fine but the front sweep lever snapped so it's on friction too until I get round to oredering a new one from Mercian or Sidcup Cycles.

Kit for courses, though, innit. You wouldn't take an aero carbon arseblade on that sort of riding either.
