A question if I may, as I know nada about the sport. And it's probably a silly question, buy hey, don't ask and you don't find out.

Getting out of water - pulling off wet suit - getting on to bike to cycle hard. Wet nether regions? Chafing? What's the deal?

Less than you'd think. Tri-specific cycing gear (tri-shorts or tri-suits) has thinner padding and it's made of uber-wicky stuff. Within a mile or so the shorts have reverted to their norm of dry legs and a humid gusset.

People do do tri in either swimmies or regular bike shorts (the long-distance athletes in particular don't like that skinny padding).

And you can always vaz up. For anything really long and mobile and moist, a bit of lubes des uglies - nappy cream / vaseline / badger balm (!) / bodyglide - works a treat.

On my race bike I actually have fewer and less problems with chafing in the wet tri suit than I do in dry bike shorts.

It's all very minimalist, which seems to suit me, and the suits do dry out quickly.

At the moment my biggest issue is with chafing around the shoulders from the sports bra. I should really go looking for a tri specific one that dries more quickly, but tryaffletes are apaprently supposed to be stick thin and tiny and not have a 32DD bosom so finding one that'l fit may be an issue.
