Well, having started audaxing this year (apart from 2 x 100s last November) I'm having a second stab at a 600 this weekend.

If I finish, I'll have an SR series in my first season.

I didn't finish my last attempt (the Three Coasts) and haven't done a vast amount of distance since then. I'm having seriously semi-solid flatulence bouts just contemplating what I'm letting myself in for.

But I realised today that the last week of September is exactly two years since I first got a bike as an adult (a nice, sturdy hybrid which weighed a ton, with a ladies frame because I was scared of crossbars.) So I feel I owe myself something to finish it, and get my SR series as a sort of cycling anniversary.

I'm only really writing this because the more people I tell, the more likely it is that I'll do it.

Just..... don't laugh if I don't.

Jarvis - can you be on standby with either jugs of celebratory cocktail or cups of soothing tea for Monday, depending?

Good luck! Stay awake and find tailwinds when you need them. That's a hell of an achievement for your first couple of years!

Posting that you're doing it is a hostage to fortune, I did it before my first century ride. I'm jealous. It's been a rubbish year, mile wise, and I'd love to have a crack at some silly distances. Good luck!

If you do it, great!

If you don't do it, you've still done great getting to where you are!

Your not the only one worying Liz it'll be my first attempt as well, Juliets 2nd after the BC and Steve said that Charlotte might try doing it on fixed  .
Last Sundays 250 was really hard work it may have been the headwind, though that shouldn't have been too bad on the trike.
I hope I don't hold you lot up.
See you saturday.

Rich.

Good?

Well, it was..... a challenge.

I fell asleep, sprawled out and snoring on the last train home. Got up today shockingly dehydrated, unable to move my legs, covered in inexplicable bruises that I don't remember getting, craving a fry-up and suffering from a terrible attack of the shits.

Last time this happened I'd had about twelve pints. :?

So 1 pint = 50km approx? Yay, an exchange rate!

Obviously that varies depending on your size, weight and tolerance.... but apparently yes, for a 5'3 bird with a potentially lethal alcohol tolerance, it seems that 50km cycling for every 1 pint has the same effect.

Six pints in the pub on a Friday night? Nah, it's cheaper just to ride 300km and you'll feel just the same the next day!
