I thought I’d ask to see if anyone was selling a GPS. I’ve got three basic ones, but fancy something like a GPSMAP 60Csx or a Legend or Vista Hcx – ie something with a nice screen and with mapping.

No worries, Andy. What do you have?

I might consider something from a previous generation – anything really! Even a Satmap or Dakota or a newer Edge.

I've got a Venture Cx, which is almost identical to the Vista Cx, and which is the old non-H generation (H= high sensitivity, C= colour, x=expandable). I blagged it in a forumfriend's charity dutch auction.

Make sure you get a model that will take a memory card, or you won't be able to use the Maps of Awesome ;)

Thanks, Andy. I’ll bear that in mind! Do your maps cover Awesome Country (otherwise known as Scotland)?

UK & IRL, if there's coverage it's on the maps. You might recall that last summer we did go off-piste a few times, so check before deciding. But hey, they're free... and there's the risk of addiction to chasing down local blanks. ;)
