... deliberately. Then the bastard drove off. Won't go into details as it's with the police just now. Fortunately, a cyclist going the other way got his number. We'll see what happens.
I'm OK, just road-rash - same for the Pompino. Off for a kip, then I shall probably be in the bar later.
Take care, all.

Shee-it!

Where, Stew? Where did it happen? How?

Glad you're okay. Be sure to get yourself checked out, though, and find someone to take photos of your injuries, and the damage to the bike, even if it currently seems insignificant.

Bastard  .

There's a special place for people like that.

Sam

It was on Topsham Road, heading towards Countess Wear roundabout. He very nearly flattened me when he came out of Glasshouse Lane - saw me, but came out anyway. He then took exception to me shouting at him (I wasn't really shouting at him, just a general 'fuck me, that was close'). Then he deliberately stood on his brakes, stopping at the pedestrian island a few yards up. Had nowhere to go, so I clipped the near side of his rear bumper and went over the bars; he just drove off. Very, very lucky, as my head hit the tarmac with a fair old whack - quite possibly saved by a helmet this time.

Waiting now to see what the police are going to do - they were taking it very seriously. A chap cycling the opposite way saw everything and got his number. Everybody else just drove by while I lay in the road. We'll see what happens next...

Not too bad, back on the bike tomorrow.

Phoned the police today, but I'll have to wait now to find out what's going on until the officer who handled it is back on duty in a few days.

Ah, that's why you weren't hurt. It's a tit on wheels!

Ta, I'll keep my eyes open.

So what news Stew?

Have the police done anything or have you heard anything?

I've just come home to find a form to complete from the police collision unit.

Well. I've just got round to opening my post, and I have a letter from Witness Care telling me that the driver was found guilty at Cullompton Magistrates Court of driving without due care & attention - £160 fine, licence endorsed; failing to stop after an accident - £250 fine, licence endorsed. £35 costs, £15 compensation.
I'm happy with that.
