Has anyone else seen how much Assos ladies' bib shorts are going for these days? Nearly TWO HUNDRED OF YOUR EARTH POUNDS!!!!

:? :faint:

Then I noticed Pearl Izumi are getting in on the incredibly expensive clothing act. Nearly 100 for theirs.

I'm sure it used to be possible to get a good pair of girly shorts for around 50 quid. Even my Protective skinsuits didn't cost that much. What in the hell happened?

Sam

The pound nosedived against both the Euro & the dollar. :( No French camping trips for a while.
So I'm riding home from John O'Goats at the end of July. :badger:

I'd like that nosedive state to remain, please for a couple more months while I get the stupid French legal system or the stupid French lawyers dealing with my late aunt's account to pay out the money *returned from the French tax man* they said was owing to me in January.

It's a decent chunk of money and I'd like something back from a tax man - the novelty would be FAB!

Bah!!!

Sod's Law! The Euro's dropped from 90p to around 85p over the past week.

The two hundred quid ones are top of the range models, and some of the cheaper ones are probably still pretty good. I’ve just ordered some leg warmers, and need another pair of shorts (I had it brought to my attention that some of my kit is going threadbare – not a pretty sight!), and noticed that some places (JE James springs to mind, although the service seems poor) have some 2008 model stuff which is discounted by 20%.

It can be quite expensive running a bike – I sometimes jokingly complain that it’s more costly than running a car! I’ve just bought new tubs at £90 each (again, from mainland Europe), and although they’re traditionally made, even other makes are around £65 each. The thing is, they don’t last that long either – I don’t monitor these things, but maybe 1,000 miles if you’re lucky. The tyres on my van lasted for over 110,000 miles, and they only cost about £120 each to replace…
