I'm developing a new website as a result of the stupid comments I got in 2006 from guys who apparently couldn't cope with the idea that girls ride fixed gear as well  .

If you ladies would like to contribute ideas/stories/photos please let me know. Do pass on the info to anyone else you think might be interested.

Sam

You can have pics from the fixie that is currently in the process of being built.

The frame I retrieved from ebay for the princely sum of 50p.

We currently have a dilemma. The dilemma being that the ancient bottom bracket, which needs replacing, won't come out.

No problem. We will ask uncle Sheldon.

Children, I have something dreadful to tell you. Uncle Sheldon failed me. He promised that if I put a bolt into it and screwed it in really really tightly then the bb would just be forced out. But no. What has happened is that I now have a really really tightly screwed in bolt in the non-functional bb.

Loadsa WD40?

Charlotte could possibly help with the Ealing fixie chick that keeps evading all that see her. I reckon we need a big net.

You could have a section like the FGE used to have before it went down. I'll volunteer to pose. 8)

Liz, you need to use more violence. We did Uncle Sheldon's Bolt Trick using a huge old car towball bolt and thick heavy washers and a yard-long scaffolding cheater bar and two gentlemen of uncertain hygiene. And RB's Blackbird was the result..!

Excellent stuff. Well done that man.

I certainly intend having several galleries.

I am SO up for this! :D

And would anyone fancy a girls-on-fixed ride in London at some point? I've been thinking of it for a while...

I would like to try a fixed.

Not sensible in the Ramtops, but doable in London I feel...

I'd love there to be a section for fixed Virgins...

Excellent.

The project stalled because of some issues with the tiddliwiki I had planned to use. I'm going to learn php instead.

This may take a while.

I'm only comfortable on fixed on the track. The first time I went on track, I'd never ridden fixed before, never ridden a bike without brakes and never used clipless pedals. So I got a threesome of newbie stuff all at the same time. I *loved* it on track, as it was huge fun, but I wouldn't be confident about my bikehandling skills to be using a fixie in traffic. I like my gears & freewheel out on the road.

Only six months since I decided to build a fixie

Finally done! She's called Ollie (yes, I'm one of these terrible twee individuals who names their bikes) and she's really rather gorgeous.

Definitely up for a ladies fixie ride....
