Soup?

We have cigars.

Into Final Fettle now, the bike is beginning to groan under the weight of food. Maybe I'll leave the trailer-drawn rotisserie and hog-roast behind after all...

Sun's out! And my cycling gear is out on the line, drying. It's probably quite nice at St. Andrews right now! We (all five of us) bailed at Edinburgh following a cold, wet, windy night - just wanted to get warm and dry, the consensus was universal. I beleive that makes it two-in-a-row for not reaching the beach at St. Andrews - we'll break this bastard next year yeah?

What we should have done is ride it on Friday night with Aya!

Dumb Run III: Pattern Recognition? It can't be like that every year, can it? Well, I turned down a pass to Stonehenge with a heavily-tattooed hot archaeologist for that gruelling fight and yeah, it was worth it. Thanks for being daft enough to come along :) That which does not kill us, and all that.

A handful of photos here:

We'll blame the dog at Wet Withens then!
Pity, better luck next year. - This event could become legendary amongst the hard cases

I think it's fair to say the participants were all challenged to some degree

Mentally and physically.

Aya, the barman at the pub said hello ;)

Let's see, with one person the weather is great. With four it's foul and with five it's preposterous. I think if we can bring together about thirteen riders next year, we can bring about the end of the world. Hot hail, earthquakes, pools of lava along the Antonine Wall and at least one rider lost forever in the Roundabouts of Cumbernauld.

Big Hugs to the rest of runners of Dumb, thanks again for the company to make the crap weather bearable (just).

Erron, good to meet you and good to to know you're already planning your revenge.

Wet easterlies two midsummers running? Did someone upset the weather gods? We hit the rain somewhere east of Dunfermline about 7pm and it didn't seem to let up and nor did the wind - I'm not surprised you called it a day.

Third time lucky?

I'm going to be doing a write up for Anth, so you'll have to wait until the next issue of Citycycling, I'm afraid.

20th June 2009, anyone?

Dumb Run III, this time it's SPARTA?

I've put a corrected route up:

http://www.gentlemencyclists.org/dumbru ... oute08.rtf

I'd be grateful if Dumb Runners could take a look and see if they consider it now to be accurate :? .
