I have to say the 30 - 40mph headwind sleet after Strathblane was taking the piss, though.

Sam,

Had a look at the route,

no 20- "@ RB LEFT towards Croy." I don't think there was a roundabout there anymore, if this is the one where we went straight on and bypassed Croy I thought it was just a junction, although the more I think about it the more vague it gets.

no 25- "@ RB RIGHT under railway and over A80" pretty sure there was no RB there the road just went straight over the A80.

nos 1-69 inclusive should all include "road liable to flooding"

no 14.5 should be "look out of window at rain, stay for another drink" :partyman:

from no48 onwards i can't comment cos I've never been there (yet). :( :-({|=

apart from that looks good, makes perfect sense having just been there.

Tom

We also heard that someone got blown off the bridge into the ravine on the LEPRA ride during the day on Saturday. Fell 30' and walked away unhurt, but that was before the weather got really bad!

perhaps if the farmer had been around I could have purchased a beard to rival even your masterpiece of facial adornment.

I was nervous at the thought of crossing that bridge - looks like I had good reason to be. When we were sitting in KFC waiting for tombt, discussing the bridge - I just had visions of myself being unavoidably drawn to the edge and over! It was actually freaking me out a bit, I kept quiet, I think it was due to the lack of a good night's sleep the night before.

I'll second that :)

There's an attendee / weather correlation:

1 Fine
4 Foul
5 Foul with hilarious rain and sleet, apparently

...extending the curve gets:

6 Tornado
7 Rain of frogs
8 Hot hail
10 Volcano
13 Rangarok

That means that this is, truly, the ride to the end of the world!

I wonder if we could bribe someone to turn up near the bridge with tea and bacon around dawn for a proper refuelling and recovery stop next time?

Oh, I just read Kirst's account of the Lepra and the weather didn't turn nasty until late afternoon when they were done - maybe this chap fell off some other year?
