Whether we can change the week or not is down to whether Munky has bought train tickets for the trip or not. I'll ping him and find out. If he hasn't sorted out his travel plans, we can move the week.

He was going to buy tickets today, so we might have just caught this in time...

OK. We're either moving it to the week before (my marginally preferred option) or the week after. It depends on what the train ticket prices are like. At this point it's up to the Beloved Chairman to let us know when he's coming. Of course, this assumes he still wants to do the ride... :evilchuffy:

I have to be back for Monday morning though. That might put the anchors on mini-golf. I could get a late train I guess.

Well, if you have to be back you have to be back. We can do Pirate Adventure Mini Golf without you.

You're not making this easy, you know :c+angry: .

Sorry. Blame a combination of my course and my need to earn money.

If it makes you feel better, I could come up and play golf (or go to Go Ape) before the Fuck! Aberdeen! ride. I'm off from the 4th of May until the 11th of June, give or take a couple of days when I'm in uni. :)

If you want to come up beforehand, on a route recce or something equally implausibly organised, you'd be more than welcome. Just let us know. I'm off to the US for a week on the 3rd May, so it would have to be after that.

What can I say, I feel a lot more responsibility when you put me in charge of organisation.

The section out of Stonehaven is evil. We decided against a flat in Stonehaven purely because the cycle commute looked to be such an arse. The climb up out of there is relentless and pretty steep. I wouldn't want to do that on fixed. I don't think I could do it on fixed. I wonder what it would be like cutting inland past hillside at Montrose and heading north to Banchory and up from there? I'll pick up an OS map and take a gander. Shame Pingu is no longer frequenting the forum, I'm sure he'd be able to offer advice.

That change looks...much much worse to me. Instead of 300ft in a mile, I get about 1000ft in 4 miles.

I don't know the hills though, just the profile on the map to look at.

How busy is the A90 there? If it is wide, it might be an acceptable option. Could jump off it again at Portlethen.
