A90 is busy all the way up, although it does have a koff koff cycle path alongside it.

Route scouting has been delayed by a bout of whooping cough. My life is so awesome right now.

That's the second case of whooping cough I've heard of in Embra this month.

Hope you GWS.

Is whooping cough doing the rounds? You might not be fit for it, Will, and, to be brutally honest, the weather has been unrelentingly dismal for ages (got some sun today, though!)

I'm quite prepared to say stuff the ride, just lets have a weekend of silly games and frittering about with bicycles. I won't be desperately disappointed. So if you're in recovery (it's only a month away) then say so.

Sam (at least I can officially say I don't have asthma!)

Oh, I'll be fine for the actual ride. I'm just not going to be able to cycle up this week, which was my original plan.

I can do silly games when I get my summer holidays. Whenever that is. 16/07 to 05/08 :)

I find myself contemplating shifting it to the Friday night so that Will can play Pirate Adventure Golf...

Having said that, I'm struggling to drum up enthusiasm for it given that I haven't ridden more than about 10 miles in months and the prevailing southerly has actually been a northerly since before Christmas!

There's turmoil down south, I'm ... yeah, amazingly fat and slow. You know what a nice forty feels like? A nice twenty-three felt like that today. So much use of the groveller gear and walking speed climbs!

It's actually kinda cool how the body can shift specialty so completely, but it's not making me feel like I'll have century legs this summer. :(

It's cool. You don't have to do the ride. We just want to see you. It's not like Frood's going to do it, but he's taken the week off too!

Only a couple of weeks to go now, guys! I hope we get weather like we did over this last weekend.

So how are we all feeling? Keen? Motivated?

How are things with you, Will? I thought you were going to come up and see us while you were on hodilay. How's the cough?

Sam

I was keen and motivated until those cough. I managed to crack two ribs with coughing, and my mileage has drastically dropped off.

I have two essays to write at the moment for September, which isn't helping either. But if you still want to do it, I am still keen to give it a go.

Also, I am very tempted to come and visit this weekend. Train, rather than bike. Are you free?

Noes! Poor Will! :-({|= :disapprove:

I have writer's group on Saturday and we were planning to go see Prometheus afterwards. I have to go because I'm presenting one of my stories. It's two hours between 11am and 1pm But, if you'd like to come up anyway and come to the movies with us (my treat) you'd be more than welcome. Otherwise why not wait until Munky is here and we can all go do something fun? I had a bad fall on the beach at the weekend (my foot got trapped between two rocks while I was trying to get in from a swim and I was knocked over by a wave) and I don't know if my ankle will stand up to 130 miles yet. I was going to give it a week and see.

The good news is that we now have a swish BBQ and a garden to use it in.

Is the road up to Braemar a nice trip? Only... there's the Inver Stone up thataway. There's a challenge I could have a go at. Maybe. *ulp*
