I've just had to face up to the fact that I can't race in Galway this year and am feeling unutterably miserable about it.

I'm just wondering whether it might be nice to instutite a Friday Night Ride to the Coast. Only I live on the coast. So maybe it should be a Friday Night Ride to a Nice Beach. Or a Sunday Afternoon Ride to a Beach for Beer and Picnic. Or something.

I quite fancy St Abbs but I'm restricted to about 90 minutes to 2 hours of riding each way until my foot heals.

Sam

It's 30-odd years since I was in that area but we used to go diving just north of St Abbs from a quiet cove known as Petty co wick -gods know how it's spelt, I don't!. The access was along a gated road off the main drag. Nice quiet spot, we used to have snowball fights on the beach and cook lobster on a driftwood fire. If you're still diving there's an aircraft wreck off there, I've seen the engine in about 30ft at low tide.

Saturday night (after I finish at the Bike Chain) would be better. Especially if we met outside. ;)
